To enhance Apple Podcasts' competitive edge, we introduced social features that differentiate it from platforms like Spotify. These additions included timestamp commenting, clip saving and sharing, and a friends list with shared libraries, fostering a more interactive and engaging user experience.

My Contributions

I conducted secondary research to analyze Apple Podcasts' target audience and benchmark competitors. To gather user insights, I designed and distributed a survey to podcast listeners and conducted usability tests to identify real-time challenges. Finally, I presented the redesigned concept to my class with the help of my teammates, showcasing how these features could improve engagement.

Results & Impact

The proposed redesign positioned Apple Podcasts for a potential competitive advantage by making the platform more interactive and user-friendly. By integrating social features, the experience became more engaging, encouraging greater user retention and content discovery.

Reflections & Takeaways

This project deepened my understanding of user research and its connection to marketing insights. Additionally, balancing this work with a heavy courseload was a valuable lesson in time management, reinforcing my ability to handle complex projects under pressure.
