We were asked to design the user interface for a community focused AI tool that would connect users to the No School Violence Database. This interface would help progress the work that this organization is pursuing in the technological landscape, as new opportunities for user interaction have developed with advancements in AI.
How might I help local small businesses that need a better understanding of User Experience and the value it provides? This was the question that sparked the idea for User First. After talking to some local entrepreneurs, they were looking for an affordable, timely, and high quality solution to their Design needs. With an emphasis on local networking and harnessing the power of community, User First brings students and other entry-level designers to local small businesses in need.
Any brand needs purpose and cohesion. Through my time in Integrated Marketing Communications, I constructed my personal brand by drafting and refining my creative strategy. This outlines who I am as a professional and who I wish to help.
Although we often practice creating experiences from scratch in school, often times in industry you're re-designing a product that has already been created. This creates another level of complexity, as you're working on a project with it's own pre-established elements. In a group with five other designers, we re-imagined Apple Podcasts. We gave it some unique social features to give it a competitive edge over Spotify.
