Diapers Daisies and Dandelions

Lead UI Designer and Web Developer

Diapers, Daisies, and Dandelions is a brand created by Allison Winchester, a neonatal intensive care nurse practitioner. I designed and developed the DDD web presence to help Allison promote her brand and offer her services to anxious and confused parents seeking information about the NICU and everything surrounding it.

Personal reflections

My Contributions

  • Drafted a proposal outlining the project goals, scope, deliverables, and pricing for designing and developing the web presence.
  • Created the brand’s color scheme, selected fonts, and designed all visual content (excluding photos) for Diapers, Daisies, and Dandelions.
  • Designed the website from initial wireframes to a clickable prototype in Figma.
  • Developed the site in Squarespace to ensure easy management for the client after handoff (as outlined in the project scope), incorporating custom code where necessary.
  • Communicated with the client to deliver the best possible web presence tailored to her needs.

Results & Impact

Allison successfully launched her web presence and is currently developing a course for new parents. Through the website, parents can now access free resources via email, contact Allison, and schedule one-on-one meetings. A second phase of this project is planned to develop the course structure and further streamline the user experience.

Reflections & Takeaways

I am pleased with how this project was executed. While wireframing felt tedious at times, I enjoyed creating the prototype in Figma. Using Figma for design made the transition to Squarespace much smoother since the content layout had already been pre-approved by the client.
In the future, I’d like to experiment with AI to enhance the design and development process. For example, I plan to explore using Figma AI to generate a base wireframe, which I can then refine into a unique design. Additionally, I’m excited to experiment with AI tools for converting designs into HTML and CSS more efficiently.
